Guitar Virtuoso Kyuhee Park in Concert

with a Prelude performance by Preston Hong

Kyuhee Park performed in opera tours under the late conductor Seiji Ozawa and studied under leading Japanese classical guitarists Shin-ichi Fukuda and Kiyoshi Shomura. Park is the first-prize winner in the Alhambra International Guitar Competition, Agustin Barrios International Guitar Competition, the National Korean Guitar Competition, the Heinsberg International Guitar Competition, and the Printemps de la Guitare International Competition.
Originally from Incheon, South Korea, Park made her highly acclaimed CD debut with “Sueño” from FONTEC (Japan) in 2010 and later released "Sonata Noir" and ”Spanish Journey."

Prelude performer Preston Hong

Preston Hong is a prizewinner of both the James Stroud Classical Guitar Competition and the Guitar Foundation of America’s International Youth Competition. He has appeared on National Public Radio’s classical music show From the Top and has recorded for Guitar Salon International. He has performed in masterclass for Manuel Barrueco, Bokyung Byun, Duo Exaudi, Bin Hu, Christopher Parkening, Raphaella Smits, Duo Sonidos, Meng Su, Marco Tamayo, Benjamin Verdery, and TY Zhang, among others. Preston studies with Christopher Mallett at the California Conservatory of Music and himself volunteers as a guitar teacher to underserved students. Outside the guitar, Preston is a high school junior and enjoys Boy Scouts, volleyball, and playing clarinet in his school's marching band and County and All-State honor bands.

Guitar Virtuoso Edith Pageaud in concert

with a Prelude performance by Alan Chen

Edith Pageaud is the first-prize winner in the Drôme de Guitares competition, the Roland Dyens International Competition, the Florence International Guitar Competition, and the Rust International Competition “Alirio Diaz” in Austria.

She attended the City Conservatory of Paris under Gérard Abiton and earned her Diplôme d'Etudes Musicales in classical guitar at age 14. She also studied with Gérard Verba and also studied philosophy before returning to music full-time.

Pageaud today teaches classical guitar in France. In addition to her performing career, she arranges piano repertoire by Rachmaninoff, Scriabin, and Brahms, among others.

Prelude performer Alan Chen

Alan Chen, age 19, attended the summer guitar workshop at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music in 2024 and 2023, studying with renowned teachers including Sergio Assad and Meng Su. Alan is a longtime ensemble performer and has been coached by Rob Watson, Patrick O’Connell, and most recently Angelica Artelt, with whom he also studies privately. He began the guitar at age seven, under the instruction of Matthew Fish. Outside of guitar, Alan enjoys playing racket sports and trying new restaurants with friends.
