​Guitar Virtuoso Kyuhee Park in Concert

with a Prelude performance by Preston Hong

Kyuhee Park performed in opera tours under the late conductor Seiji Ozawa and studied under leading Japanese classical guitarists Shin-ichi Fukuda and Kiyoshi Shomura. Park is the first-prize winner in the Alhambra International Guitar Competition, Agustin Barrios International Guitar Competition, the National Korean Guitar Competition, the Heinsberg International Guitar Competition, and the Printemps de la Guitare International Competition.
Originally from Incheon, South Korea, Park made her highly acclaimed CD debut with “Sueño” from FONTEC (Japan) in 2010 and later released "Sonata Noir" and ”Spanish Journey."  

Prelude performer Preston Hong, student of Christopher Mallett 

Preston Hong is a prizewinner of both the James Stroud Classical Guitar Competition and the Guitar Foundation of America’s International Youth Competition. He has appeared on National Public Radio’s classical music show From the Top and has recorded for Guitar Salon International. He has performed in masterclass for Manuel Barrueco, Bokyung Byun, Duo Exaudi, Bin Hu, Christopher Parkening, Raphaella Smits, Duo Sonidos, Meng Su, Marco Tamayo, Benjamin Verdery, and TY Zhang, among others. Preston studies with Christopher Mallett at the California Conservatory of Music and himself volunteers as a guitar teacher to underserved students. Outside the guitar, Preston is a high school junior and enjoys Boy Scouts, volleyball, and playing clarinet in his school's marching band and County and All-State honor bands.
