Hear new-age fingerstyle guitar works by award-winning guitarist and composer Janet Noguera. Incorporating a variety of styles, concepts and techniques, she creates an innovative, imaginative and unexpected soundscape with the acoustic guitar.
Mexican-American fingerstyle guitarist and composer Janet Noguera was featured in Acoustic Guitar Magazine at age 19 in the feature "30 Great Acoustic Guitarists under the age of 30." The same year, she won the international Lowden Young Guitarist of the Year competition for performers and composers under age 25. Janet graduated in 2017 from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a Bachelor of Music in classical guitar performance. Later that year, she won the International Fretmonkey Guitar Solo Contest.
Janet has opened for players including Andy McKee, Andrew York and Laurence Juber. She has performed in events such as the first Women of Fingerstyle Concert in Anaheim, Calif., sharing the stage with players including Kaki King, Vicky Genfan, Muriel Anderson and Christie Lenée, among others. Janet toured with the prestigious International Guitar Night 2022 with Thu Le, Luca Stricagnoli and Lulo Reinhardt. That year, Janet also released her full-length debut album Myriad Worlds, which has been praised by several guitar magazines including Akustik Guitarre, Guitare Sèche, Fingerstyle Journal and Acoustic Guitar. In 2023, Janet toured with three other female guitarits in six European countries including Italy, where soon afterwards she debuted an exciting and successful solo guitar tour.
"In Noguera’s hands, these extended techniques never come across as gratuitous but always feel like an integral part of her compositions. And when she plays with more conventional technique, Noguera is just as inventive..." -Acoustic Guitar Magazine
