A longtime friend of the South Bay Guitar Society, Tom Gardin gave many wonderful performances at SBGS Open Mic events.

After Gardin’s untimely passing, his family and duo partner Scott Swink created the Tom Gardin Memorial Scholarship Fund in his memory. Administered by SBGS, the fund awards grants to outstanding contributors to guitar education in the region, particularly guitar programs in public schools. SBGS administers the fund at no cost, so 100% of contributions benefit the recipients.
